THEY GOT MARRIED, WHERE? by Bro. Dan'l Lee

How fitting for a man who has embedded his life with the principles and philosophy of Masonry to pledge his life and love to his Lady in a Masonic Lodge. I’ve heard many stories and ideas in the fraternity and have to admit this is the first time I’ve heard about a wedding ceremony being performed in a lodge room. It must be very humbling for a man to think that much of his brethren and his lodge to have them take part in such an important undertaking. When you get to know the man it sounds so fitting.

On January 11th 2011 RWB Michael C. Hinds was united in marriage with Pamela Gay Dearing Mendes at Morning Star Lodge #734 in Canton, Illinois. They were united in marriage by Pastor Dean Austin who is also a Past Master at Morning Star Lodge. The bride was attended by Ms. Brenda Russell, cousin of the groom and former co-worker of Pamela. RWB Hinds' best man was RWB Terry L. Seward, Deputy Grand Master of AF & AM of the State of Illinois.

Officers and members of the Morning Star lodge assisted the couple by setting up the lodge room for the wedding. It’s unknown if there has been a wedding at Morning Star Lodge or any other lodge in the area prior to this.

The wedding was attended by family and a few Friends and of course some members of the Lodge. RWB Hinds is a member of Farmington Lodge #192, Farmington, Ill and an honorary member of Morning Star Lodge # 734. The couple will reside in St.David, Ill. They honeymooned in St. Louis, MO.
